The Dan Patterson Legacy Campaign
Honouring a leadership legacy through endowed student support
President Dan Patterson, the dynamic, visionary and tireless leader of Niagara College, will conclude his tenure as president on February 23, 2020.
In tribute to his extraordinary 25 year career as the fifth president of Niagara College, we are launching a special fundraising campaign to honour his legacy and support student success.
The Dan Patterson Legacy Campaign is raising funds to create a new endowment for Niagara College student bursaries, scholarships, and Be World Ready travel bursaries.
“Over the past 25 years, I have been fortunate to work alongside many committed colleagues while serving an incredibly dedicated volunteer Board of Governors.
Together, we have significantly advanced the academic mission of our College. I am very proud to have been president during a time when we launched new and exciting academic programs and have raised millions of dollars to help fund critical priorities.
Throughout this time, I have always believed that any student prepared to work hard and build a new life should be able to reach for their dreams, regardless of their financial circumstances.” — Dr. Dan Patterson
Supporting Students: We can do so much more
Financial support from alumni, friends, and corporations is critical to helping current and future students meet their potential. Niagara College is grateful to our many generous and loyal donors who support our students by donating to scholarships and bursaries.
But the need continues to grow. Currently Niagara College offers one scholarship or bursary for every 10 students. We know we need to do more. We know there continues to be many people in our region who are unable to pursue a college education due to insufficient financial resources.
The Dan Patterson Legacy Campaign will create an endowed fund to help make education more accessible by supporting students in financial need.
