Equipment and Resources
Employers want students work ready, which means they need to be trained on equipment that will be in the workplace when they graduate.
Each year, the Ontario government provides about $300,000 to Niagara College for instructional equipment; however, the requests from the academic program areas typically total more than $3 million.
The College must invest at least $1 million annually just to keep pace with technology. The only sources for this money are donations, and revenue from special events and other fundraising activities.
Your financial support will help purchase new and replacement equipment that Niagara College has identified as the highest priority to support student learning and success.
Some of the most urgent investment is required for the Broadcasting – Radio, Television and Film program to make the conversion to High Definition (HD) to keep pace with industry.
There is an ongoing need for new and replacement equipment for technology programs; culinary, wine and beer programs; environment and horticulture; justice studies and other program areas.
Donations also help the College to purchase assistive devices for students with special needs, and the library to add to its learning resources, such as books, DVDs, journals and online subscriptions.
